Is IPL likely to suit your skin and hair?

Start with the two essentials
IPL relies on contrast between pigment in the hair and surrounding skin. That is why the same device is not appropriate for every combination.
Stop and check first: pregnancy or breastfeeding, photosensitising medicines, epilepsy triggered by light, a history of skin cancer, active skin conditions, recent tanning, tattoos, dark marks or uncertainty about any treated area. Manufacturer exclusions vary.
Do not guess
Use the exact skin-tone and hair-colour chart for the model you plan to buy. If you have a health concern or take medication, ask an appropriate healthcare professional and the manufacturer.
